Exciting Things…

Exciting things are happening at the Carnegie and within the Board of the Almost Free To All / Branches at the Carnegie group.

After a well-executed presentation to the Placer Community Foundation, we received a generous grant

from them that will be used to carry our overhead costs during the construction period.

We continue to move forward with figuring out the ADA access for this lovely building – it’s quite a

process to configure the best way to do this – our goal is to make the best financial decision for this

access and we continue to persevere with the City and the architect we are working with as well as our

own Board Member, Phil L’Amoreaux. We are so grateful he’s on our team!

Shout out to Alexia Retallack, another Board Member of ours, who has partnered with General Plumbing

Supply in order to get a bathroom ADA-compliant by helping with the purchase of a commode. Thank

you to both Alexia and General Plumbing Supply.

Speaking of our team, another one of our Board Members recently took the 3rd place award for the Gold

Country Writers Short Story Contest – congratulations to Joli Roberts! Her story is about a woman with

dementia and her caregiver.

As always, we welcome you to get involved – it can be with the gift of your time or expertise. A financial

donation is always appreciated as well or just sign up for our newsletter so that you can be “in the

know” and hear all of the latest happenings.

We are so excited to be making good progress on the ADA access which has to be complete before we

can open up the space to the public to rent. We look forward to being able to host your event, class,

small business, etc. in an affordable way.
