Roaring Like a Lion

March 2024 edition

As March has come in like a lion, so are things happening at the Carnegie!

We are the recipients of the Auburn Rotary, “Put a Rotarian to Work Day” for 2024. The scope and volume of work that they are doing is tremendous. Prepping the walls for paint (yes, our elegant building has a few cracks that will get fixed), taking down a wall that covers up a couple of windows, weeding, irrigation, landscape, and putting in pavers in the back yard. In addition to that, Warehouse Paints is donating the paint – we could not be more thrilled at how all of these things are coming together to beautify this graceful building. She is feeling the love and will be shining brightly when these things have been done. The big day for this is April 27 and we can’t thank Auburn Rotary enough. We look forward to sharing the before and after photos.

We continue to apply for grants to help with financing the many plans for making this building a haven for many for such a great variety of things.

We would like to thank Placer Arts Council for their continued support.

This will also be our first year in the Big Day of Giving which is May 2, 2024. There are so many deserving organizations involved in this and we are honored to now be a part of it.

Additionally, we are working with Pride Industries and that should prove to be a very fruitful and gratifying partnership for us and for their workers. They have offered to help with weekly landscaping, set-up and clean-up at future events, etc. This is all training for their workers and what a delight to be able to be of service to them.
